It’s a funny movie about promise, waiting and love. Navorski flies to New York to get a signature of a jazz bandsman for his father. His father is a crazy fan of jazz, and he collected signatures of all members of a band, which costs him 40 years, while he died before received the last one. For finishing his dream, Navorski reached to New York alone, but his country no longer existed because of internal war, so he was force to stay at JFK Airport. In the airport, he had many troubles, no food, difficulty in communication, misunderstanding etc, but Navorski is smart, he always find the way to feed himself and live better. His selfless help him to make many new friends, and he even help a Russian take medicines for father, which makes him be hero of majorities in Air Ports. Amelia is an airline hostess who is waiting a man who is deserved to be waited for 8 years, so she is a little similar to Navorski – both of them are waiting. I think Navorski falls love with her, while he is refused because Amelia says “destiny”, Amelia is still the important friend in the airport. After staying there for 8 months, peace finally befall Navorski’s country, but the officer of the airport order him to return home, Navorski give in first, but all his friends think he should go to New York and encourage him to fight against the injustice command, certainly, Navorski wins. Even policemen help him, there is no reason that Navorski can’t leave, and he go out, call a taxi, meet the bandsman, ask for signature, everything is smooth. I believe that everyone who watches this film will smile when Navorski says to cab driver “I will go home”.

“This simple story conveys some wonderful philosophy for people living in this country busy around every day for business, families, and so on, to slow down and reflect on something. As the retired officer said to officer Dixon, there is something we can learn from Navorski.”As a viewer said, this is a movie that can’t be missed; it will tell you the beauty of humanity, which is egoless, mutual aid and keeping promises.

刚看这部影片的名字的时候猛然想到同为FOX出品的2000年作品Bedazzled（中译：《与魔交易》？）

而且尤为让我惊奇的是在Bedazzled中出现的一个场景：女主角每经过一个过长都会变化自己的服装 居然 在 The Devil Wears Prada重现了

看这个片子的时候想到Stockholm syndrome（中译：斯德哥尔摩综合症？）

Andy不断重复的那句”I didn’t have a choice”和她的任劳任怨的确体现出这一点

至于 绑架者 是 成为人上人的诱惑 还是 米兰达（Miranda） 就见仁见智了

总之最后kawaii的Andy从中摆脱并在New York Times找到一份工作，还是蛮符合其喜剧定位的
